Electric Vehicle Provincial and Federal Government Incentives

Federal Incentives.

In order to encourage the adoption of Zero-Emission Vehicles in Canada, the Government of Canada launched the Incentives for Zero-Emission Vehicles (iZEV) Program.

 

Under this program, Electric vehicles (EVs) are eligible for up to $5,000* in federal incentives and Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) are eligible for up to $2,500*.

 

The Hyundai vehicles eligible for the federal incentive are:

  • IONIQ 5
  • IONIQ 6
  • KONA Electric
  • Tucson Plug-in Hybrid

Provincial Incentives.

British Columbia

The CleanBC Go Electric rebate program offers rebates on eligible passenger vehicles up to $4,000 on an income-tested basis. Only passenger cars and SUVs with a MSRP of $50,000 or less qualify for this rebate.

Manitoba


The government of Manitoba are offering an electric rebate of up to $4,000 for eligible Manitobans on vehicles with an MRSP of less than $70,000. Incentives for leases are proportional to the length of the lease. The rebate amount is determined at registration with Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI) beginning on July 1, 2024.

Quebec


The Roulez vert financial assistance program offered by the Gouvernement du Québec offers a rebate of up to $7,000 for vehicles with an MSRP under $65,000. In order to qualify, the vehicle must be registered no later than 31 December 2024. 
Please note that the incentive amount will be reduced to a maximum rebate of $4,000 in 2025, and further reduced to a maximum rebate of $2,000 in 2026, where the program is scheduled to end December 31, 2026.

New Brunswick

Residents of New Brunswick can receive a rebate of up to $5,000 on new vehicles where the base model trim MSRP is less than $55,000, and up to a maximum MSRP of $65,000.

Newfoundland and Labrador

The government of Newfoundland and Labrador is offering rebates of up to $2,500 on the purchase or rental of an electric vehicle and $1,500 for a plug-in hybrid vehicle.

Nova Scotia

Under the Electrify Nova Scotia Rebate Program, Nova Scotia residents can receive up to $3,000 in rebates on the purchase of new electric vehicles with six or fewer seats and with an MSRP of $55,000 or less.

The government of Prince Edward Island is offering up to $5,750 to Prince Edward Island residents who purchase a new or used EV.
