Mission Statement

At Hyundai Auto Canada, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) comprise the foundation of our organizational culture. The emphasis on DEI at Hyundai Canada contributes directly to all five of our core values: operating with a customer-focus; embracing challenge; cooperation to fuel collaboration; a culture that develops and respects our people; and lastly, enforcing globality – which is honouring the diversity of all cultures and customs.
We are dedicated to creating a workplace that reflects the diversity of our Canadian communities and consequently, that of our customer base. We believe differences should be celebrated and are regarded as an opportunity to learn about one another. We recognize that each person’s unique life experience contributes to our culture, innovation and overall success. The Hyundai Canada workplace respects different experiences, ideas and beliefs, and is a place where everyone feels empowered to bring their full, authentic selves to work.
Furthermore, Hyundai Canada administers methods to identify and remove barriers which may impede inclusion and equal opportunity. Through our inclusive policies, as well as ongoing training and recruitment practices, we are committed to ensure a welcoming, bias-free culture for everyone.

Success Stories and recognition

Our DEI initiatives have led to meaningful change and multiple award recognitions. We are grateful to have our hard work and efforts recognized by reputable organizations, here are some of the awards and distinctions we received over the years that speak for our workplace culture

We are proud to be recognized for this honour for the third year in a row. To be considered, Hyundai Canada had to reach a minimum number of employee responses based on overall size and achieve an 80% or greater average satisfaction rating from team members.

Hyundai Canada has been recognized on the 2024 Best Workplaces for Women list by Great Place to Work® Canada. This is the fifth year that we are recognized for our efforts in making the automotive industry more sustainable for women by Great Place to Work. Meaningful partnerships like with the PWHL, sustainable career growth (did you know 50% of our National Managers are female?!), our Women@HAC Employee Resource Group, and benefits that specifically support women are just a few ways that we promote and empower our female team members.

Hyundai Canada has been recognized as a Best Workplace for Mental Wellness by Great Place to Work® Canada. In addition to our formal mental health benefits, we have a number of different opportunities for our people to obtain support in the wellness space. Whether it's lunchtime yoga, a 7-minute stretch during your workday, our upcoming walking challenge, or bringing in mental health professionals for private appointments and speaker sessions like our session last week with Anthony McClean, wellness is a crucial part of our day-to-day and overall health.

This is a recognition that is given by Mediacorp and published in the Globe and Mail, after a thorough assessment of the organization’s initiatives in creating an equitable, diverse and inclusive workplace. Hyundai Canada’s organizational strategy focuses on creating a sustainable and meaningful business environment through various actions and programs that support continuous learnings and provide opportunities for career advancements.

For thousands of years the land we operate on has been the traditional land of the Haudenosaunee, Huron-Wendat, Anishnabeg, Seneca, and Chippewa. We recognize that treaties were not written equitably, many were never honoured and work must be done to heal Indigenous relationships with Canada. We share the responsibility to understand the impact of our past with the goal to move forward as allies to build a bright future for everyone based on peace and trust.
